Kanazawa's Japanese umbrella workshop "Mint" has opened at JAC.

Hiromi Yamada, a Japanese umbrella craftsman based in Kanazawa who has been spreading the wonders of Japanese umbrella culture, has opened a shop at JAC called "Aketo".

It takes about three months to complete one Japanese umbrella. At "Aketo", we sell a variety of Japanese umbrellas, including rain umbrellas, parasols, and miniature umbrellas. The umbrellas, made from handmade washi paper, are a joy to look at. There is also an interview with Yamada, who has a good understanding of how to use Japanese umbrellas. If you are even slightly interested in Japanese umbrellas, please come and visit us.
