What you need
- Pot: A small pot with a capacity of 700ml or more, a milk pan, etc. (It is convenient if it has a spout)
- Tea strainer
- Teapot/coffee maker, etc.: Prepare a container to pour the finished chai into while straining it through a tea strainer.

- Milk : Cow's milk, soy milk, oat milk, etc.
How to Brew Chai
Duration: Approximately 7 minutes
- Put 250ml of water into a pot.
- Add the cassia , cardamom (cut lengthwise with scissors), and tea leaves to the water, then bring to a boil over medium heat .
- Once boiling , reduce heat to very low and simmer for 2 minutes and 30 seconds .
- Add 300ml milk, powdered spices , and 2 tablespoons (about 30g) of sugar , cut a cross on the bottom of the pot with a spoon, turn the heat to medium, and simmer for 60 seconds .
- After 60 seconds , reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 minute 30 seconds .
- Stop heating and cut the bottom of the pot in a different way to the cross cut you made earlier. Then lightly mix the whole mixture with a spoon until it is well combined.
- Pour slowly through a tea strainer into a pot or tumbler and it's done.
